Construction is underway on an exciting new play area at Keflavík Airport, designed to make travel more enjoyable for the airport’s youngest visitors.

The play area is inspired by the whimsical world of Tulipop and will be located near the Aðalstræti dining area, at the entrance to the second floor of the airport’s new east wing. Alongside the play zone, children and families can also enjoy iWall, an interactive digital play experience developed by Finnish company CSE Entertainment.

This imaginative new space is the result of a creative collaboration between Tulipop, the design team ÞYKJÓ, and KRUMMA. Tulipop, founded in 2010 by designer Signý Kolbeinsdóttir and Helga Árnadóttir, is widely recognized for its colourful, magical universe filled with unique characters. The brand’s most ambitious project to date has been the production of a 52-episode animated series, which has achieved significant international success.

Installation of the play area will take several days, with the official opening planned for later this month.
