A Warm Welcome for Bjørnis the Fire Bear

Bjørnis has already secured a place in the hearts of many Icelandic children, as television shows about him have been broadcast on RÚV and become a big hit. He recently moved from Trondheim, Norway, and this is his first time traveling abroad.

His journey went smoothly with Icelandair, and he received a festive welcome at KEF Airport. In the arrivals hall, cheerful children from the Heiðarsel preschool in Reykjanesbær were waiting, along with fire chiefs from the Capital Area Fire and Rescue Service and the Suðurnes Fire Department.

Bjørnis will support fire departments across the country with education and preventive work, especially for the youngest generation. This is a large and ambitious project that aims to improve fire safety in Icelandic homes for the future.

Bjørnis is excited about his new home, and we at KEF Airport are delighted to have taken part in this project together with our partners.
